Archive footage of Phil singing with The Animals in Moscow! Enjoy a trip back to Soviet Russia via House of the Rising Sun...
This is my personal page. I put things in every now and again - but my blog means you can see me in realish time! So. Just to fill in a bit more detail about me if you're interested. I grew up in a place called Oxhey in Hertfordshire, England. And as childhoods go it was okayish bordering on the completely surreal and terrible in patches. My family were (and still are god bless them) pretty amazingly dysfunctional. But I made it through unscathed. I started playing music aged just six (the banjo and the ukulele!) but really got going aged 16 (guitars are much sexier there is no doubt - no disrespect banjo or ukulele players!) – And I launched myself and my songs into local folk and blues clubs as they were the only places you could just turn up and play.
At 18 I went on my first mini tour and then I never looked back - I have played with some famous names - some live - some session and luckily continue to do so. I still travel quite a bit and still try when I can to giig my way across the world as I have done for much of my career. To be honest I have been very lucky to know and work with some very amazing people. My song writing truly reflects my life and the world as I see it, and I know I'll never stop writing. Too much has happened to me - good and bad and bloody terrible!
But I'm an optimist, I really am, you never hear me complain (well okay very very occasionally and only a ten second tiny little moan at that) If you want to email us at
This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
we'll even send you a PDF copy or an Ebook of my life story if you'd like (It's called Random Moments and it’s unusual to say the least)
IMPORTANT NOTE: There’s a story about my crazy late father right at the end of these next pages and you can read a mini biography about me there as well but please read the next bit! It’s the most important thing on this site. Really.
This is a picture of my beloved Fiona.

She was killed on her motorbike in 2001. She was my very very best friend, my confidante, and love of my life. I will always love and miss her so very much. I cannot ever forget her, I think about her just about every day, (I always will and my god do I miss her so very much sometimes) she is part of my heart forever. Some people change your life. She changed mine. I wanted to let you see her and remember her. Here's her story and mine and to anyone who thinks it's very personal I'm happy to wear my heart on my sleeve. If you love or have loved someone never be ashamed to tell the world. Especially someone who makes your soul sing as she did to mine. I never expected to lose her and the grief never goes away. Although I regularly add to this personal page I never edit this paragraph as I can't think of a better way to say this. The story on the next few pages was written in late 2002. Here in 2010 it seems like yesterday.
